EXTREME WEATHER OF UZBEKISTAN

¡°Extreme heat is returning to Uzbekistan¡±, the news flash this headlines all over the place, Uzbekistan a land locked country also known as the heart of Central Asia isn¡¯t very unfamiliar when it comes to extreme temperatures, not being very close to the equator still doesn¡¯t mean that it is immune to the extreme weather experienced by numerous countries all over the world due to Climate change and global warming.

Uzbekistan has recently witnessed the wrath of the same, while weather forecasters predicted a record high 49-degree Celsius temperature rise during July 17-22, everyone remained unsure about the extremeness of the forecast, but ultimately it did come true, temperatures as high as 48 degrees Celsius were recorded on a single day due to the influx of warm air masses shifting towards Uzbekistan. According to statistics this was the highest temperature ever recorded in Uzbekistan since 1870! Now that you understand the seriousness of the situation, what were the aftermath of this extreme climate change?

Interruptions in energy supply were observed in a number of areas in the capital of Tashkent, Power outages were experienced all over the country due to increase load on the power infrastructure which left residents in some areas without water and basic necessities. Further flux in the climate is indeed predicted to cause even more damage to the lives of citizens of Uzbekistan but strict actions are also being taken against this calamity.

Officials are now providing low voltage electricity on super-hot days as a solution to the problem, which means necessary light, motor for water and ventilation will be able to run however devices like refrigerators, car chargers wont work during the situation, adding on, draft resolutions for increasing electricity capacity after blackouts are also being drafter for the problem.

But all of these are temporary solutions, the root of this evil has been ruled out to be climate change due to global warming which has lead to abnormal temperature activity, so as an Eco Ambassador to Uzbekistan I urge you all reading this to consider climate change as a serious and dangerous calamity and address it before it causes even more irreversible devastation.
