I am a founder member of my school?s environment club , called the ?Eco Club? .  On 27^th October , I , along with other members of our ?Eco Club? took part in the ?Clean Up the World? activity . Organised by Dubai Municipality , it was held at a local beach where we spent the whole morning collecting and cleaning the litter on the beach . At the end of the    activity , we received a trophy of appreciation from Dubai Municipality.

On the following day , I took part in cleaning a different beach near Dubai's iconic manmade Palm Islands . These beaches are nesting grounds for the endangered Hawksbill turtles . The  rubbish and litter we found on the beach ranged from plastics, cans, food leftovers , metal scraps , bottles etc. We collected these and dumped them into separate containers for recycling . Many of these nesting turtles and camels often choke on these plastics and die. Hopefully the beaches we cleaned will help to preserve some of these animals.
