7 Ways of How to Keep Your Skin Regime and Your Planet Clean

by Paisley Hansen | 09-09-2022 12:22

When you think about your daily skin regime, how often do you consider the planet? It turns out that an increasing number of people do. If you read a Thrive Skin review or other similar product feedback, one of the recurring subjects of concern is the environment. Luckily, there are several ways that you can help keep the planet cleaner by making some changes to your skin regimen.

1. Use What You Already Have

Are you someone who collects multiple types of skin care products that you rarely use? If so, you are not alone. However, there are numerous ways that you change your skin regime that are better for Mother Earth. One of the easiest methods is simply using what you already have instead of buying more items and accumulating additional waste.

2. Reduce Consumption Whenever You Can

By the same token, you can also be kinder to the environment by reducing your consumption whenever possible. If you use what you already have, it can make doing this easier. Again, the importance goes back to limiting waste. According to National Geographic, there are approximately 5.25 trillion pieces of trash in the ocean. Think about how many disposable face wipes and plastic cleanser bottles that might contain.

3. Avoid Wasting Water

How much time do you spend running the faucet while washing your face at the sink or taking a shower? These natural steps to many people's daily skin regimens can also have an impact on the planet in the amount of water they require.

4. Recycle Empty Containers

Even when you try to limit your consumption, it is very likely you will still need to dispose of plastic bottles and other potential hazards to the environment. You can reduce your negative impact by recycling empty containers instead of throwing them in the trash. If you do not already have one, pick up a recycling bin from your local center and start implementing regular recycling habits into your daily regimen.

5. Try Reusable Cotton Pads and Brushes

How do you clean your face or apply products to it? Although it may be more convenient to simply use a new cloth or sponge every morning, throwing away that much waste every day is not the best move for the environment. Instead of opting for single-use or disposable products, try reusable ones. For example, try reusable cotton pads and makeup brushes instead of disposable applicators and sponges. Reusable products can also help you save money.

6. Note the Ingredients

It is common for people to read the ingredients for different food products that they buy, but it can be less common for non-food products. If you do not usually read the ingredient label for the skin care products that you buy, changing that could also help you keep your skin regime and planet clean. In particular, look for natural ingredients and growth methods to better understand what kind of carbon impact the manufacturers may have made when producing the item.

7. Choose Vegan-Friendly Products

If you have never tried vegan skin care products, doing so is another way you can keep your skin regime and planet clean. Because vegan-friendly products do not use animal-derived ingredients, they are typically plant or mineral based. As such, it reduces the amount of harm to animals around the world. For individuals with sensitive skin, vegan skin care products can also be more gentle than traditional ones that often use ingredients such as beeswax, collagen, lanolin, honey and keratin.

Humans have a major impact on the environment. By following these methods as part of your daily skin routine, you can help reduce your negative impact on the planet in a simple yet meaningful way.
