5-day Intl workshop on climate change begins

On Sunday, a 5-day international workshop on Standardised Baselines, and Clean Development Mechanism and Regional DNA Forum started in the capital,

The workshop will mainly focus on the impacts of climate change and prepare concrete modality to stop excessive carbon emissions.


The organizers of the workshop are United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Ministry of Environment .


The conference was inaugurated by Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Chief Secretary of the government, by watering the plants.


Ghimire also said that clean development mechanism will help attain sustainable environment growth.


Ghimire pledged to unveil climate change policy this year and informed the participants that the government has constituted the institutional capacity development and coordination mechanism.


Robert Piper, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Nepal, said all countries across the world should unitedly combat the worldwide challenges of climate change and each country should exchange and promote their national capacity regarding the climate change.
