Diesel from wasted cooking oil

by | 04-09-2011 00:22

Vietnam, as well as other countries depend a lot on the nature for producing energy. However, natural resources are being abused greatly that it is urgent that we should start using green energy
A new idea was proposed in the Energy Forum in Vietnam  that cooking oil can be reproduced and use as Biodiesel. Right now biodiesel is quite expensive to produce but if we can reuse cooking oil to make diesel, it will be much cheaper. Besides, Cooking oil will also reduce the CO2 and NO that normal diesel expose. This idea is very possible since a lot of wasted oil from factories as well as from homes have been witnessed in Vietnam.
However, despite its possibilities, there are still some problems. In Vietnam, after being used, oil will be poured away or used for bad purposes. The money we have to pay for those wasted oil is even higher than the money we pay for diesel. In the near future, I highly hope that the government can come up with a solution to solve this so that this idea can be applied to reality
