For the first time in history, Vietnam will establish environment protection law. The law will be valid in January 1st 2012. The environment tax, in the immediate time, imposed on 8 categories of products which are considered to have big impacts on the environment: petroleum products, coal, HCFC solutions, plastic bags, herbicide, pesticide act, forest products preservatives, warehouse antiseptics which listed as the products for ?limited use?. The environmental protection law allows the National Assembly?s Standing Committee to add taxation items after considering the real situation. This means that the number of items to be imposed the environment tax will increase. This law should have been established long time ago and its good that the government have now realized the importance of environment protection law and environment tax. With this law, hopefully, Vietnam's environment situation will become better in the near future |
