The cleanest city in Vietnam

by | 03-09-2011 02:04

Hue is not only well-known for its beauty and historical reputation as the former capital of Vietnam but it is also famous for its green atmosphere and cleanliness.
According to the most recent report of Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Hue City has been chosen as the cleanest city of the nation.
Hue has had a lot of ideas on protecting the environment such as: all civilians have to clean the streets on weekend, 3R campaign, water disposing program. There is also a campaign called "Vegetarian Vietnam" which originated by a youngster from Hue. The campaign suggests that everyone should avoid eating meat as much as possible to protect the environment. This campaign is very popular and it spreads to a lot of cities and provinces of Vietnam. Besides,
Hue also has the largest number of trees all over Vietnam and the city aims to have 7-8 metres square of trees per civilian next year.
I think Hue would be a good example of a green city in a developing country. In the future, I hope Hue as well as other cities in Vietnam and the world would be much greener so that we can have a green world
