Greenland is famous for its environmental issues. I think the reason why ice-melting in especially this area ,Greenland, attracts other people's attention is that ice-melting in Greenland is fairly different from that in other spots like the North Pole.

      Let's imagine there's a glass of water and just one ice cube on it in front of you. As time passing by, the ice cube will melt. After this, will the water line will rise up? Answer is 'No'. Actually this situation is quite normal because volume of ice is bigger than that of water. When A part of ice, existing in water, finished its melting , the other part of ice ,existed in air, fills the empty place of this ice part. After all, the water line did not change. This is just same as ice-melting in the Arctic. Of course, case of pure water can be different from case of ocean water which contains many substances. However, the difference is subtle enough to be ignored.

      On the other hand, ice-melting on the ground is far more dangerous than in the ocean because as melted water goes into the ocean, directly it is greatly contributing to rising of sea level. For this reason, many scientists and professionalists keep telling the public danger of ice-melting in Greenland.

      Also, many experts from various countries have observed and investigated this issue.
