What a disgrace

(I posted this at ecogeneration.org on 5/29/10, hence the outdatedness)

A few days ago I received an email from Kiern Suckling, the Executive Director of Center for Biological Diversity. The email was asking for donations to help save the animals that are having their lives threatened because of the oil spill crisis that occured a month ago in the Gulf of Mexico. The email went like this:

This morning the U.S. Inspector General released a report showing that government regulators falsified safety inspections on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico while taking money, gifts, and jobs from oil companies.

And in Alaska, the government handed out cash bonuses to employees who rushed drilling permits while censoring scientists who warned of impending oil-spill catastrophe.

The Center's research, legal, and media teams have been working 24/7 since the BP explosion, filing lawsuits, generating media stories about oil-industry corruption, and working with congressional supporters to keep the pressure on.

Well his email gave a surge of indignance against the venal government officials! Geez, so irresponsible.

Anyway, he asks for donations to help stop the oil spill, so if any of you are willing you can help and donate at
