Locals of Khotang to save pandas Red panda is one of the rare species of pandas. In the community forest of Phedi VDC in Khotang district of Nepal, locals spotted the animals often so they have come together to protect the species. The local groups have been holding interactions to preserve the animal and have also erected hoarding board in many parts of the forest. About two dozen of the species is estimated to be found in the forests. However, the local district forest office is yet to confirm the exact number of the animal in the forest. |
