Nepal covers 1,47,181 square kilometers of the Earth surface. Although being a poor nation, it has the highest mountain Mount Everest and other 7 high mountains among the 10 highest mountains. Nepal has been home for several hundreds of species of biodiversity. Due to its altering land structure including mountain, plains and valley, it has been a suitable habitat for many species. Deforestation, Poaching and corrupt politicians have become a major problem in resulting many of the species found here being endangered. 112 endangered species are still sheltering here in Nepal. Among which are 7 plant species, 6 amphibians, 50 birds, 7 reptiles, 42 mammals and 1 insect species. Nepal is known for its natural beauty and thousands of tourists visit Nepal to view its natural beauty. If proper action is not taken on time then these endangered species may be extinct. |
