This month, I would like to focus on Gumi city?s purification system. Purification system is very important for other regions as well, but there is a reason why it is more important and has to be taken good care of in Gumi. There is a large industrial complex in the city. Lots of factories are located in limited space so if the wastes are not treated carefully the whole city could suffer from water problems.

           According to some research I conducted myself, currently Gumi city does not have a unique, their own, system for factory wastes to introduce. Each factory conducts purification respectively and the city just regulates and checks the purified result. In my next article I will introduce some eco-friendly ways to purify wastes that shall be adopted in many other regions, too.

           Other system to purify used water, such as sewage that ordinary people makes, Gumi sewage disposal plant has been working since June 20, 1990. It is responsible for all the process of purification system and the final result that would go directly in Nakdong-river. It is able to purify 330000m3 in one day. Also in 2005 a more sophisticated system has been established, so more clean water is being discharged in the river.
