Nature and I (July)

nature and i

Nature is all the living things in the world and the inanimate substances in addition to this. It encompasses both external aspects of life and internal aspects. Humans have interacted with nature for centuries, shaping it and making it an integral part of our culture. In some ways, nature has shaped us as a species.

Human beings will be affected by nature even when we deny it. The environment is essential for all life on earth since we depend on nature for our survival. Without nature, there would be no humans as we know it today. Nature also defines our culture; we celebrate holidays dedicated to different natural phenomena and consider natural places holy. Nature has been an integral part of our lives from the beginning, and there is no way to separate us from it. Nature has shaped humankind¡¯s history profoundly. Ancient civilizations such as the Mesopotamians, Egyptians and Greeks had superstitions about nature¡¯s influence on humankind. Throughout history, however, people have recognized that humans can negatively affect nature if they are not careful— hence the idea of sustainable development.Although humankind has existed only a few thousand years compared to earth¡¯s 4 billion years, our influence on natural world has been substantial enough that humans are essentially part of nature rather than apart from it— like a king or queen above other creatures instead of one among many below them like a mammal does normally. Consequently, anything we do will affect the natural world either positively or negatively since we are naturally a part of it too. Therefore, we must learn to respect both external aspects — like animals — and internal aspects — like energy inside animals — so both can harmoniously interact with each other if humankind is to survive at all on this planet!
