Life is not a bed of roses but it requires development with passion and determination. As the development is going on, and with the rapid progression, it is no secret that the planet Earth is undergoing serious and calamitous conditions. Climate changes are rapidly impacting mother Earth and its residents. That is why we talk about global warming and its impact on the ongoing universe. As human actions are impacting life, animals are getting infected due to climatic actions and are in danger. Due to inhumane and brutal development, the shared environment is suffering and lingering to death. To create a symphony of peace and awareness regarding the Human-Animal-Environment bond, Vets Pets Consultancy organized a  session on the importance of pets and their climatic impacts on their well-being. Vets Pets Consultancy collaborated with different local organizations to talk about climatic impacts. This webinar was conducted virtually and participants from Nationwide took interest in it. I, as the ambassador of Climatic Actions Pakistan Tunza Eco-generation and CEO of Vets Pets Consultancy, presided over the session to emphasize the importance of animals with climatic changes.

Our pets are also at the mercy of the consequences of global warming and we must be aware of this. Here are some aspects that were briefed during the session:

1.   One of the most critical points for pets and pets is the appearance of pests that affect their health. The increase in temperatures with climate change has made the appearance of ticks, fleas, and other parasites more frequent in residential areas. Further, heat stress, dehydration, and changes in the mood behaviors of the pets are being observed.

2.   The presence of pests in the life of pets has brought with it greater health conditions and the worsening of some diseases. Climate change has been responsible for increasing the growth of different pathologies; Thus, bacterial diseases and autoimmune diseases have increased considerably as a result of frequent changes in temperatures in urban areas. Like in monsoon and rainy seasons, ticks infestations rise to a maximum.

3.   In extreme weather conditions like cold, pets catch fever, flu, and cough easily, That is the reason, it impacts their well-being, making them confined to their homes.

4.   Although the owners always try to offer their pets the best living conditions, the truth is that it is increasingly difficult to achieve it taking into account the changes and deterioration that the climate has experienced. The high temperatures, one of the clearest impacts of climate change, have been reducing the quality of life of pets, limiting the possibility of going out, exploring, and even living with the environment.

Thus, climatic actions impact the well-being of pets likewise, it impacts human beings. We need to reverse human actions to restore the order of the universe and cultivate eco-friendly products for better facilitation of the universe.

·  What we must do?

1.   The presence of pests, the appearance of new diseases, the limitations of pets to interact, and the imminent risk of the critical decrease of natural resources, are factors that exponentially threaten the health and life of domestic animals. We need to reduce carbon footprints and introduce organic products to enhance the liveliness of the Human-Animal bond.

2.   The increase in natural disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, and others, also directly affects domestic pets, taking into account that these animals are the last rescue priority in these emergencies. We need to take measures to save humanity and reverse the inhumane actions to nourish bio-friendly approaches.

3.   By introducing strategic interventions, pets and humans can enhance their well-being of pets.

Pets also suffer the consequences associated with climate change and it is necessary to act to reverse this situation. We need to emphasize on voluntary actions, introduce webinars/sessions to cultivate the importance of human actions on the well-being of the universe, and work on approaches that can impact Human-Animal welfare and their shared environment before it's too late to reverse deteriorated impacts!
