"World Heritage Sites are cultural and natural sites considered to be of 'Outstanding Universal Value', which have been inscribed on the World Heritage List by the World Heritage Committee. These places or buildings are thought to: have special importance for everyone."

From the description above, Mulanje Mountain Biosphere Reserve fits the criteria to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Malawi, it's a shame that it isn't as it needs to be guarded jealously, it is a national treasure. We're all witnessing the mountain getting stripped of its beauty (trees, wildlife, etc.). It's worrisome and severe intervention is needed. What can we do?

Malawi submitted Mulanje Mountain to be considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 17 May in the year 2000. Till date the mountain is still on the Tentative list to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
