Biodiversity loss

by Amit Hassan | 21-06-2022 17:08

The fall in the quantity, genetic variability, and variety of species and biological communities in a particular region is referred to as biodiversity loss. The loss of diversity of life can cause a breakdown in the functioning of the ecosystem where the reduction has occurred. Biodiversity, or the diversity of all living things on our world, has been decreasing at an alarming rate in recent years, owing mostly to human activities such as land use changes, pollution, and climate change. If ecological services are no longer enough to fulfill social requirements, biodiversity loss can have substantial direct human health consequences. Changes in ecosystem services have an indirect impact on livelihoods, income, local migration, and, on occasion, may even instigate or intensify political strife.
