In order to reduce air pollution, people are asked to make use of public transportation instead of driving their own cars to work or school. When the app was launched amid much skepticism in 2010, only 400 bicycles were available, but as of July 2021 there were 37,500 at 2,467 stations. The Seoul Metropolitan Government said the poll of 1,000 public service users showed that Seoul Bike achieved the highest satisfaction rating of 96.9 percent among the city's 10 public services. It was followed by the city's equipment-rental service (93.3 percent) and car-sharing service (91.7 percent). The average satisfaction rating of all 10 public services was 89.5 percent. Meanwhile, the most popular service was public Wi-Fi, used by eight out of 10 people. The poll also revealed that the city's public services have been used more often amid the coronavirus pandemic. Users have increased in the coronavirus pandemic as they tried to avoid enclosed public transportation.
