by Malewo Chiwanga | 01-04-2022 05:19

Water pollution refers to the contamination of water sources  by things which make the water unusable for various services such as cooking, drinking, cleaning and even swimming.
Ever since the industrial revolution and the introduction of mass contaminates in the air, water pollution has risen like no other pollution in comparison till this very day there are sadly many pure  water sources which are constantly falling victim to  contamination causing continued damage humans cause most surface water pollution wether on purpose or accidentally through oil spills or fertiliser infiltration but there are also naturally occurring causes for water pollution such as an excess of nutritients on water causing an imbalance and Microbiological pollution of bacteria and viruses such as cholera and bilharzia this type of natural water pollution is especially harmful to humans. Unfortunately I have witnessed this first-hand in my country where we have suffered many outbreaks of typhoid and cholera due to natural water pollution and an unregulated water system
