What I do for the environmentThe pandemic made me realize the reality in which we live. I was already conscious about the care of the environment, but the pandemic made me increase this consciousness. Mainly, I develop environmental projects in the city of Cuautla. I understood that if Cuautla was not interested in the care of the river by the government, I had to do something. Before I became an ambassador, I started to do campaigns to clean up, but after seeing the garbage and realizing that I had to do something, I started to do environmental campaigns. Every weekend we go to the river and on our bikes, we try to pick up garbage. Even if it's just a little, we know that in the end it will help us a lot. As I mentioned before, a few months ago, I went to a garbage dump in the city of Cuautla, in the state of Morelos. Attached are some photos. I observed the piles of garbage piled up and was amazed. I am aware that being a Samsung Tunza ambassador made me change in several aspects. This program made me investigate and apply what I researched in my day-to-day life to change Mexico on sustainable issues. Currently, I am a leader of Youth Empowering Mexico City (JEM CDMX), which is an organization that promotes youth empowerment and develops various social activities, mainly environmental. In fact, in the following months I will be in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Senate, where I will be able to have meetings and propose environmental laws for Mexico. These opportunities present themselves to me for several reasons. Without a doubt, I aspire to be a politician in Mexico who will undoubtedly make great changes for the environment.
I also currently study applied mathematics, and I plan to use mathematical models to make decisions on behalf of Mexicans and the environment when I become a leader in change. Daniel Puente - 27th Eco Generation Regional Ambassador to México - |
