[December Theme Report] Urbanization

by Jayden Kim | 26-12-2023 11:55

About 83 percent of the US are living in urban populations. The US is also one of the highest urban population rate in the world out of all the world. This makes the US one of the largest amount of urban polluters in the world. Pollution from dense populations, drainage pollution, trash pollution, and a variety of other types of polluters that can destroy the environment and the ecosystems around the cities.

Los Angeles itself produces about 83 million tons of Co2, and with tens and hundreds more that are almost to the same level of production of LA, the US is in deep trouble in Co2 production.

There is still hope however. The US is the largest producers of electric vehicles and new urban technology to reduce Co2. Companies such as Tesla, Rivian, are all major electric vehicle companies that are leading the march of Co2 production from vehicles, another significant polluter in cities.
