27th Ambassadorship, Month 6, Report 1 Thematic Report: February Title: "What I am Doing to Help the Environment" Well, Tunza Ecogeneration has given me a recognition to advocate for the betterment of the mother earth. I have been struggling to maintain and protect the condition of the environment by any measures that may or may not be handy to me. The existing social, economic and political structures hinder young people to participate and make positive contributions to the community yet we cant afford to step back as we will have to live for decades with the decisions that are being made today. I have executed more than a dozen environmental campaign. Few of which are: Fighting for climate justice is fighting for fair, sustainable and green future for all (not just for few elites) where we uproot the injustices of every forms. Taking into consideration for this, I had conducted school campaigns in more than dozen diffusing the action to fight for climate change. The vicious cycle of loss and damage and the hardships we face due to the climate crisis must end. I listened the perception of more than 100 students regarding the climate change and climate action. Further, I pour them insights on climate action from my side. Indeed, this campaign was impactful for many children who as about unfold their dreams. Those young voices and their success, challenges and hopes on the journey of climate was very hopeful. We have seen Himalayan glaciers become lakes, have seen the waste and rubbish left behind on the mountains. I believe we all need to play our part in tackling this and inspiring behavioral change. Thus, I conducted oratory competition on proper solid management in different geographical situation from high mountains to plain Terai region of Nepal. Wherever I go, I donot put myself aside for putting lights upon the management of kitchen waste to make a compost for house maker. Likewise, I encourage to use less plastic to others by using reusable eco bags. For many children, I suggest to make their pocket as a bin wherever they go and finally dispose it when they find a container. I am conducting ¡®Eco-hub¡¯ whereby insights of many people regarding the environment, environmental components are expressed in the form of poem, essay and so on. More importantly, I am adopting plastic free life as much as possible and enjoy reading literatures related to the environment. Also, I envigor myself conducting ecocampaigns to enrich others with environmental facts and the detrimental activities we deliberately or unknowingly perform. Although my campaigns were over, but our roles rather increase to adhere to those and contribute to enhancing in country climate actions that should be just and responsive to gender, indigenous peoples, local communities, economically marginalized and all types of ecosystems including forests. I have been launching the campaign to protect the local communities from worsening the impacts of climate crisis. I focus on providing the guidance, which most of our work has to be done from at home. |
