Impact Of Climate Change On Public Health

by HASSAN ABUBAKAR MUHAMMAD | 23-11-2021 17:41

The science is clear: climate change is an environmental issue and a serious threat to our public health.
The evidence that human activities and expansion are the main causes of climate change.

Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, industrialisation, and agricultural activities increase the amount of carbon dioxide that is emitted into the atmosphere, thus changing the Earth's natural atmospheric condition.

According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), the climate change will affect air quality, water and food supply, extreme heat and severe weather conditions. All of these changes are a serious threat to our health.

The direct damage cost to health caused by climate change is estimated to be between 2 to 4 billion dollars by 2030.

By reducing emissions of greenhouse gases through better transportation, food and energy use, we can greatly reduce the impact of climate change on our health
