waste disposal

Waste management plays a noticeable role in controlling waste materials of human society without harming the environment. Our world would be worse a place if we stopped recycling, processing, reducing, and disposing of garbage that we create every single day. For example, the average person generates about 4.5 pounds of trash per day, while more than 2.12 billion tons are produced each year. There are various categories of waste on the planet and these are managed with different functions.

Recycling

Recycling itself is divided into three main types. Mechanical recycling, which is the most common one, plastics or other waste disposal are transformed to produce new materials. It is mostly used to make garbage bags, floors, new packages, and many more. Energy recycling- with the help of incineration plastics are converted into thermal and electric energy. Chemical recycling-in order to be used as raw material, plastics are reprocessed with modified chemical structures.

Landfill process

Sanitary landfills are designed to bury the trash to be isolated from the groundwater, rain, air. This type of landfill uses two ways; the trench and the area method to prevent hazardous substances. Municipal Solid waste landfills(MSW)- household garbage is collected and regulated by local governments and they are turned into MSW¡¯s disposal, but some items such as motor oil, batteries, chemicals, etc are prohibited.

Biological reprocessing

The purpose of this process is to speed up the natural decomposition of organic matter and it recycles the waste materials like plants, food scraps, and paper products.
