Zero waste is a process of reducing waste and consumption, maximizing recycling and reusing products. A zero-waste lifestyle is one of the most sustainable ways of living. In our daily life, there are several ways to practice a zero-waste lifestyle. It is impossible to produce no trash but we can adopt a zero-waste lifestyle. When we consume more, we generate more waste, which must be disposed of in landfills. It is essential to reduce consumption and reuse more to diminish toxic waste. Here are some guidelines on how to live a zero-waste lifestyle in our daily life.

1)    Buy second-hand products

We can buy second-hand items during shopping as much as possible. Purchasing second-hand products allow for the reuse of many items.

2)    We can use digital technology to reduce the use of paper in the office. Use email to communicate with our colleagues.

3)    Buying in bulk

Buying in bulk amount is a great way to reduce the amount of packaging material which will generate less waste.

4)    Carry reusable bags and reusable containers during shopping which will reduce plastic pollution. Purchase less packaged fruit and vegetable during shopping.

5)    Donate unused items instead of throwing  which may be useful for others

6)    Degradable waste is used to make compost which can use for gardening.

7)    Consume less as much as possible.

8)    Reduce, reuse and recycle the waste items.

2)    It will minimizes the pollution in atmosphere.

3)    It will promote social equity.

4)    It can build community capacity, support marginalized community, and protect community health.
