by ALOK DHAKAL | 26-09-2021 20:25

27th Ambassadorship Report, Month 1 Report 2

Thematic Report: September

Title: Zero Waste

Zero waste is a collection of waste avoidance thoughts that supports all goods are reused. The ultimate objective is to avoid sending waste to landfills, reducing them in incinerators, or the ocean. Globally, only 9% of plastic is really recycled at the moment. In zero waste concept, the materials will be reused until the optimal level of consumption is reached.

The Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA) has defined Zero Waste Concept as ¡°The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse and recovery of all products, packaging, and materials, without burning them, and without discharges to land, water or air that threaten the environment or human health¡±.

We live in a community full of people with different behavior, knowledge and skills. People have different perspectives on adopting the zero-waste lifestyle. As individuals become more concerned about environmental deterioration, the number of persons in this group will increase. Also, many individuals believe that living a zero-waste lifestyle is a fantastic concept on paper. They, on the other hand, lack the necessary information and skills.

The most significant benefit of a zero-waste lifestyle is that it allows people to take part in efforts to reverse environmental degradation. It can reduce a person's, families, or community's living costs as well. It also exemplifies the path that the entire world must follow in order to attain environmental sustainability. Adopting a zero-waste lifestyle provides personal pleasure in knowing that one's actions have no negative impact on the environment.

The influence that a single person or a small group can have on reversing environmental deterioration by adopting a zero-waste lifestyle is minor in comparison to the total damage of the global ecosystem. We cannot forget peoples thinking that adopting a zero-waste lifestyle reduces their quality of life.

I encourage everyone to adopt the Zero Waste Lifestyle wherever you can apply!
