Electrical Vehicles in Indonesia

Over the pass years, there have been displays of electric cars that were small. There were also different types of competition for green vehicle designs. The most consistent use is electrical bikes.

Before the pandemic, there was the trial for electrical TransJakarta buses at the National Monument Monas in Jakarta, Indonesia. However, I have not gotten a chance to try it out, and I have not heard much about it since. Currently, electrical motorcycles are starting to become a trend in Jakarta.

A company called Swap provides swappable batteries for electrical motorcycles. Instead of charging the motorcycle through a charging outlet, a charged battery at a charging station is ready to use and to be swapped with the customers depleted battery. This makes use for efficiency in time. Furthermore, these charging stations are available outside minimarkets thus an easy access to customers.

The available facility would hopefully encourage people to change to green vehicles. But it cannot be forgotten that with the encouragement of change, people have to be educated about the importance of green vehicles. Then comes access and the sustainability of having such green vehicle in a certain city. That is why with this charging station, electrical motorbikes have a facility that helps its users in the long term.
