Discussing the current rainforest situation

Rainforests are the epitome of nature¡¯s wonders. Producing a huge amount of oxygen, housing millions of flora and fauna species, acting as a carbon sink, and just being insanely beautiful are just some of the advantages of tropical rainforests. However, in the recent years, mankind has acted like a plague and is destroying nature¡¯s best work of art. It is essential to understand the threats faced by rainforests so that we can take effective action in restoring them to their former glory. 

A disturbing fact is that fifty percent of earths rain forests have been plundered to keep up with our demands for timber and farmland. As a result, they now occur a significantly less percentage of earths landmass. The worst part is that if we continue to exploit the rainforests as we have been for the past few years, we may actually wipe them off the earth completely. We cut down forests for wood, medicines, herbs, extracts, and lastly, for arable land.

If we can control our demands, and find more eco-friendly methods of satisfying them, we will surely be able to preserve and perhaps even grow our rainforests. All of this will require a major amount of time and effort, but as a concerned citizen of the earth, I am willing to put in the hours. I hope this article has instilled the same feeling within you all
