What is The Paris Agreement?

A legally binding international agreement was adopted by a great number of countries, 196 to be exact. This Treaty (known as the Paris Agreement) states that all parties that signed the agreement take decisive steps/measures, adopt policies and enact laws to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050. This Agreement has the sole purpose of limiting global warming to 1.5¡ÆC or 2¡ÆC in an effort to stop the human burden on the ecosystem.

What work is being done to achieve carbon neutrality?

By Countries

Two countries Bhutan and Suriname have become Carbon Negative (Remove more Carbon from the atmosphere than they emit). - (www.greenbiz.com/article/one-sixth-worlds-economy-soon-could-be-covered-carbon-neutral-commitments)
Iceland Generates 99% of its electricity and 80% of all it uses from Hydropower and geothermal resources, leaving small if at all existent Carbon Footprint. The Nation Aims to become carbon neutral before 2040 and further reduce gas emissions by 40% by 2030. – (www.government.is/topics/environment-climate-and-nature-protection/climate-change/)
Costa Rica Aims to become carbon Neutral by the end of 2021. Producing up to 99% of its electricity through renewable resources and replacing government owned gas-powered vehicles with electric ones. Even going as far as to use tax on petroleum to plant trees. – (globalresilience.northeastern.edu/costa-rica-pursues-carbon-neutrality-by-2021/)
Many Countries even ones as influential as the UK have adopted policies to cut back on carbon emissions and are implementing a variety of techniques such as carbon sinks (Schemes that remove carbon dioxide or other green house gases from the atmosphere) with things as simple as Habitat Restoration or Reforestation. - (www.forestresearch.gov.uk/tools-and-resources/statistics/forestry-statistics/forestry-statistics-2018/uk-forests-and-climate-change/carbon-sequestration/)

By Corporations

Coca-Cola has committed to reduce its carbon footprint by 25% by 2025.
Unilever aims reduce its environmental impact by half in a decade.
Microsoft Aims to Reduce its Environmental Impact by 75% by 2030.
