Let me introduce with you all the panelist.

Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahato, Veterinary Officer at Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Expert Center, Sunsari, Nepal: Dr. Mahato is the Veterinary Officer at VHLSEC, Sunsari. He has also served as Poultry Veterinary doctor/ Techno-Marketing Officer at Asian feeds Pvt. Ltd. He holds his Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine (M.V.Sc. Medicine) from Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal and completed his Bachelor's degree in Bachelor in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandary (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Tribhuvan University. He was enrolled in IVSA Nepal contributing as the Webmaster in 2014.

Dr. Arjun Thapa, Founder President at Small Mammals Conservation and Research Foundation (SMCRF). Dr. Thapa is working as a conservation and research director in Small Mammals Conservation and Research Foundation. He is a broadly trained ecologist working at the nexus of land use change, wildlife ecology, and species interactions. His work focuses on investigating how current biodiversity exists based on species distribution models and genomic evidence, particularly on mammalian fauna in the Himalayas. He employs an interdisciplinary set of methods including biophysical and ecological measurements, social science methods such as interviews and as well as direct and indirect wildlife monitoring.

Atty. Heidi Marques-Caguioa, Program Director, Animal Kingdom Foundation IncAtty Heidi is the Program Director of Animal Kingdom Foundation, Inc or AKF. A practicing lawyer by profession, she has taken her legal profession into another level by applying her expertise and passion in the field of animal welfare. Having joined AKF in 2003, she has since led the organization as Program Director in its various advocacy campaigns and programs including the operation of its rescue and rehabilitation center located in Capas, Tarlac. She likewise leads AKF’s farm animal welfare campaign on Cage-Free! As a lawyer, she has likewise initiated the filing of Animal Welfare bills and has been instrumental in the drafting of various animal welfare guidelines as an official stakeholder with the Committee on Animal Welfare. Atty Heidi also serves as a regular resource speaker in various animal welfare seminars locally and abroad the latest of which was a talk about the Dog Meat Trade during theAsia for Animal Conference in Dalin, China.

Fourth: Dr. Jorge Villamil, DVM, ACIMgt (UK), On-call Veterinarian at Villa Alfredo Wildlife Project & Paradise Ranch Gazebo Park & Zoocobia Wildlife Park and Clark El Kabayo Riding Stables, Project Consultant at MultiFresh, Inc. (Organic Livestock and Crops Production & Marketing Ventures) and provides veterinary technical consultancy to client farm and ranches in Luzon areas. Dr. Villamil graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City and completed a course in General Management from the UK Open Learning University and a Certificate in Supervision at the UK Agricultural Training Board under the sponsorship of his company employer. After 19 years of continuous employment with the ALMARI Company Ltd. (www.almarai.com.sa) where he rose from the ranks, he left the company to re-enter a professional career in the Philippines. He was invited to re-join the Faculty of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Pampanga Agricultural College now PSAu in 2004 and served as its Dean from 2005-2013. He retired from the PSAU CVM in October 2019 after a 15-year stint with the veterinary college and the university. Presently, he is still actively involved in doing project consultancy management work with farm clients and livestock development advocacy groups and conducting webinars on a regular basis to students, agribusiness people, farmers and OFWs.

Lastly, Dr. Marie Shella G. Ordinario, OIC-Section Head of the Animal Information and Advocacy Services/Animal Welfare Unit (BAI). Dr. Ordinario graduated in 2009 with the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos; and passed the Philippine Veterinary Licensure Examination during the same year. She has been practicing Companion Animal Medicine for 9 years.
