Indian Companies Disrupting Meatless Meat

by Pranav Gaba | 11-07-2021 14:33

A new era of sustainable innovation is rising, and is touching every nook and cranny of the world. It is a well-known fact that meat industry is one of the biggest constributors to green house gases and carbon emissions. Many people are turning to vegetarian diets from being a meat aficionado, but that's just a meagre population. The truth is there is no getting away from meat for the meat-eaters. But the innovation that now awaits us is totally mind blowing. I first came across this path-breaking idea in Richard Branson's book 'Losing My Virginity' and has been completely fascinated and engrossed by it since then. Various companies have embraced techniques to replace animal meats with plant-based mock meats derived from proteins of pea, soy, or wheat. Here's a look at 3 Indian companies disrupting the meatless meat industry:-
1. Ahimsa Food- 'Ahimsa' in Hindi means non-violence. Standing true to its name, this Indian company is the first Indian company to go completely vegetarian, even in  meat and present alternaties to fish, chicken and mutton.
2. Vegeta Gold- Vegeta Gold is another company that joined the bandwagon to provide alternatives to fish, mutton and chicken without compromising the nutritional value and having soya, Isolated Soy Protein and mushrooms as their main ingredients in driving this change. Their products are next to their original counterparts in taste, but come with a purpose to save the environment which is a double whammy.
3. Good Do: The Vegan Eatery- This Indian company is providing wraps, meals, starters and many other snacks of the like. They offer meals which are high-protein, cruelty-free, and environment-friendly with a high nutritional value attached to them.
