Food Security

Simply the food security means the state of having reliable access to sufficient reliable, nutritious food. Availability, access, stabilization, and utilization of food are also known as food security. Food safety is the methods of handling, preparing, and storing the food such that food prevents us from food-borne illness and to make sure the food we take carries enough nutrients. Food plays a great role in maintaining our health, the healthier we eat, the more we survive. Thousands of people in this world are deprived of having food in daily life, they should work for 2-3 days to have a daily meal.

One-third of food that is produced for human consumption is wasted globally. Approximately 1.3 billion tons of food per year, is lost or wasted. Looking at these problems, we must try to minimize the amount of food lost, for this, we must be aware of consumer's needs, we must purchase packed food by looking at date labels. Reducing portion size is also the best method to reduce food waste for example, in restaurants if they serve a smaller portion food menu then there won¡¯t be excess food. There are many ways we can adapt to reduce food waste and maintain food security.
