GREEN GHANA INITIATIVE - Free Report

GREEN GHANA INITIATIVE

Five million trees are due to be planted across Ghana as part of a massive government-led 'Green Ghana' programme to save depleting forest reserves. An initiative that will really help the country as we are struggling to control an outrageous insurgence of illegal mining across the length and breadth of the country.

Under the ¡°Green Ghana¡± programme, the government provided free seedlings to people from all walks of life, including celebrities, officials, parliamentarians, traditional leaders and schoolchildren.

¡°The aim of Green Ghana is to save us now and our future generations. We can¡¯t fail our future leaders.¡± This was a declaration by the Minister of Lands and Forestry and it is my hope and wish that they are able to live up to their words.

The previous government before leaving office had a policy called ¡°National Sanitation Day¡±. Every first Saturday of every month, work was suspended till 12:00 hours, for sanitation to be done in the various communities to help keep our society clean and neat. This initiative has been cancelled by the current government simply because it was the genuine idea of the previous government whom they see us their rivals. So the next elections if the opposition wins and the elected leader is not of sound mind, I presume he/she would also go ahead and cancel this massive and good idea of Green Ghana Initiative then the country goes back four more years to try and rebuild everything again.
