Biodiversity is the cornerstone upon which we can rebuild better, from nature-based solutions to climate, health, food and water protection, and sustainable livelihoods. The foundations on which we create civilizations are biological diversity resources. Modern plant-based medicines are used by up to 80% of people living in rural areas in developing countries for basic healthcare. To retain possibilities for potential solutions to global environmental issues, the broad ecological and social implications of changing biodiversity should be minimized.

The theme of International day for biological diversity, 2021 is "We're part of the solution #ForNature".  The day provides an opportunity to participate in events that help to inform, publicize, and highlight the value of biodiversity to human and environmental health.

Nepal has imposed the lockdown to prevent pandemic take lives of thousands of people. Last year too we were under lockdown in this day so I conducted ‘Online Slogan Writing Competition’ with the jury from Top universities; Professors from Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University, IELTS/TOEFEL expert, Program Associate Climate Interactive.

I could not execute our plan for ‘International day for biological diversity’, 2021 as anticipated. So, I elucidated the importance Biodiversity to the children around my home in regard of this day.

I could see the thirst in them to widen their knowledge on biodiversity.
