Earth day was first celebrated in United states in April 22,1970 and established by Senator Gaylord Nelson . On this day millions of citizens, students have involved in the protest for environment protection across the country. This day conveyed a voice about situation and condition of planet to public. Every year earth day was celebrated across the country to commemorate the movement of 1970. This event is celebrated across the country to spread the awareness to solve the environmental problem. In United States earth day 1970 directed to passage of environmental laws such as clean air, clean water, and environmental protection agency.

In 1990 about 200 million from 141 countries have participated on celebration of earth day

In 2000 earth day manipulates the power of digital media to develop the millions of local conversation across more than 180 countries.

The theme of earth day 2021 is “ Restore our earth”. This theme assesses the natural process, developing  technologies, innovative thinking to restore the earth. Plantation campaign and other awareness campaign was conducted on occasion of earth day in previous year. Earth day was celebrated virtually due to COVID in this year. Today I have also participated webinar on engaging youth in climate action. This webinar was conducted by NYCA in collaboration with WWF Nepal and UNICEF. Many youth environmentalist have shared their experience and individual action to restore our earth. We have also discussed about recent major environmental program in our country. All the participant share their creative ideas to mitigate such problems.

We all have a responsibility to restore our earth.
