Let's embrace Green Architecture : Thematic Report

by SSENYANGE APOLLO | 19-04-2021 17:27

I am reminiscing that moment of uncomfortably lying naked on the bed and not pulling the bed covers over on a summer night, or perhaps staying half naked in doors on a summer day just because it's too hot.

Well, today's population will argue that that calls for an air conditioner, but what if you lived in the centuries before that invention?

Anyways, it's all pretty cool to have an air conditioner to solve this problem, but have you given in just a second to think about the cause of that situation which drives you into purchasing this machine?, and how best you can actually respond?

No worries if you haven't, this article has got you covered. That "your" problem is basically brought about by the increasing global temperatures that are bringing about climate change. You must have heard about this at least once some where, but basically it is man's actions of pollution through industrialisation and deforestation among others that are bringing about this.
Forget about the complex scientific explanations, I will tell you how best you can simply solve this and how the world is adapting to it.

You have probably been under a tree on a hot day and I am convinced you must have felt quite different than when you were in the burning heat of the sun. That cool breeze must have hitted you differently and wished it lasted. Then imagine actually living in that moment at the convenience of your room! Would you mind giving that a try?

Now this is the same logic the world is using to solve a problem like yours with a bigger picture of controlling climate change. You might have spotted building with hanging vegetation on there wall or grass on there roofs, flowers and so on, if not, locate the pictures just below this article. However, the world's approach looks beyond the hanging vegetation on the wall and potted plants to include the use of non-plant eco-friendly raw materials.

This approach is called green architecture and extensively includes bamboo, reclaimed wood, cork, sheep's wool as raw materials. These minimize the harmful effects of construction on the environment and human health.

Truth is, building a greener home is a choice, but how about safeguarding yourself, air, water and the environment all at once!, by opting for eco-friendly building materials and practices?

When I explained the first solution, I assumed you are done building and only wanted to make your home green, but if you are planning on building, here we go.

Allow yourself to dive into thinking about how good you will feel when maximizing these supplemental benefits.
A green home gives you improved lighting, thermal conditions, and good air quality, all improving your health, stress levels hence overall life.
A green building could save you money on plumbing fixtures, give you alternatives sources of water.

To wrap it up, maintenance comparably costs less and could save you a great deal in the long term.

Then, shan't we dive into green architecture comrades? It has indeed been long overdue.
