Environment is either positively or negatively by the activities that we carry out. It also depends on the type of people that are working, are they aware on ecofriendly activities. According to statistics, 99% of the water in the world is not drinkable. It is unfit for drinking. It signifies that only 1% of water is fit for drinking. Many countries in different part of the world are facing the problem of water scarcity. Some activities that can help reducing water scarcity is by rational use of the devices.   

Three Simple ideas to easily save water in our Home

• Two buttons in a flush:

Nowadays, in every toilet there is flushing system installed for flushing. There are two buttons in flush i.e. one big and another small. Proper use of those buttons can save loss of water. After urinating, small button must be used which releases small amount of water than next big button. After pooping, large button should to be pressed. If we use correct button at the correct place, we can save a lot of water. For each flush, we can save 3-4 liters of water. Also, if we do not have button type of flush, we can fill a one-liter bottle and keep it inside our flush. This will also pave way for reusing plastic bottles. Flush will hold less water, less water will be released and water will be saved. 

• Use of Aerators in taps 

Although aerators are small device. It can save 6 liter of water in one minute from being wasting. This fits in 95% of water taps. This aerators, without reducing pressure of water, and can reduce flow of water. The mechanism working there is that aerators mixes air with water because of which water pressure remains the same but there is no space for water flow the amount of water released is small. In a month, aerators can save around 12000 liters of water. 

• Use of RO waste water. 

It has been found that one liter of drinking water can produce 3 liters of wastewater i.e. around 75% of water is wasted. But use of RO is necessary for filtering and drinking safe water, it is necessity which cannot be ignored. We can use collected waste water in washing clothes, car wash, utensils wash, floor moping, which saves water wastage. 

These are small three things but can save a lot of water. I hope you will apply these tips at your home. Lets not wait other, It’s us to save mother earth.
