by Asmita Gaire | 21-03-2021 15:06

Agriculture acts as the main occupation of majority of farmers. Agriculture and livestock farming holds Nepalese economy. Livestock farming occupies major share in the Nepalese Agriculture. Cattle and buffalo are reared by majority of the farmers. In the Province number 05 of the Nepal, government has issued smart agriculture village programme. In this process, I was also nominated for the programme in the Suddhodhan Rural Municipality ward number 05 of Rupandehi District, Siddharthanagar Nagarpalika.

The purpose of the program is to strengthen the Nepalese economy and agriculturist or farmers economy by strengthening in the sector of agriculture and animal husbandry. It aimed to double the current production rate. The purpose was to make the village environmental smart, irrigation smart, economic smart, and more others.

It facilitates farmers through proper marketing management, through trainings and through facilitation and monitoring. The target of my village was in the sector of cattle and buffalo and maize production. Since I am veterinarian, I was supposed to look after buffalo and cattle. Accordingly, I visited the Village and did some survey and made an estimate of the necessary trainings in the field which requires improvement.

The first step towards making the Suddhodhan Rural Municipality ward Number 05, a smart village is through the improvement of cattle and buffalo shed through the proper layout design and scientific shed construction fulfilling all the requirements that a proper cattle/buffalo shed requires. The shed was totally unscientific and randomly constructed. We are working on it. I shall update on it in upcoming days routinely.
