I recently conducted an event on eco-friendly products for students of a nearby school. There were 100 participants between the ages of 10 and 15. This was the sequence of activities I planned:

Introduction: Setting the tone for the session; explaining Tunza Eco-gen, why we should care for the environment etc. (10 minutes)
Brief on eco-friendly products: A discussion on the following products and their sustainability status (10 minutes): clothing, utensils, packaging, cutlery and healthcare products.
Group storytelling: activity in groups of 5. Each kid in the group contributed one sentence to the story themed on eco-friendly products, and at the end, each group presented their story to the major group. (15 minutes)
Simulation: A situation from a government/industry leader's life concerning policies about eco-friendly products was briefed on. Kids suggested what they would have done in the situation. (10 minutes)
Prototyping: Each student was asked to bring a few items that can be used to make an eco friendly product. They then pooled their items and created that product in teams of 5. (10 minutes)
Pledge and Debrief: An exercise where students contributed to drafting a environmental pledge. This was also a deliverable for the next month's session. (5 minutes)

The students interacted enthusiastically and gave strong takeaways from each activity. The energy they gave was infectious, and prompts me to work with dedication and deep awareness of the purpose behind my work.

I look forward to organizing more such sessions and contributing whatever I can to fix the pressing problems our planet faces.
