Eco-friendly products are products that are not harmful to the environment, hence they are termed environment friendly products. Examples of Eco friendly products are biodegradable cutlery, composable paper plates, reusable sandwich bags etc. From the examples mentioned, Eco friendly products are products that are made from the simplest of resources and have low impact on the environment throughout their life cycle. In Nigeria , people do not often use Eco friendly products because they are more expensive than unsustainable products , this in turn increases the costs of living of Nigerians. REASONS WHY THE USE OF ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCTS IS IMPORTANT 1. Reduce carbon emission: When Eco friendly products are used in the environment, it reduces the carbon emission to the atmosphere hence it helps to reduce the occurrence of global warming and climate change. 2. Cost effective: Although the costs of Eco friendly products is high, it also reduce costs during long term because the products are often reusable. 3. Reduces waste: When people use sustainable products, it helps reduce the wastes produced because the products will be reused and little wastes will be produced. 4. Healthy: The use of Eco friendly products has a positive effects on our health because they are free of toxic chemicals and avoids exposure to harmful substances. HOW TO MAKE MORE PEOPLE USE ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCTS 1. Awareness: A lot of people are not aware of Eco friendly products , the benefits of using them and the effects of using unsustainable products. 2. Make the price affordable: Eco friendly products are far more expensive than unsustainable goods .
