But here I will be discussing a few of some of the bad effects that the poor disposal of wastes or the wastes generally, cause to the humans and the environment in my community and what environmental waste reducing plans that are in my country.

As we all know, some wastes can eventually rot whereas others can't rot. and while those that rot are in the process of decomposition so as to be decomposed or rotten or when the bacteria are working on them to decompose. Amidst of that process, these wastes can smell and they generate the methane gas which is kind of explosive and has a great contribution to the greenhouse effects hence these wastes cause a serious harm to our environment. 

And also there are other solid wastes that can't rot, and this causes more harm to the life on water and also on land including the air and water pollution. And so Rwanda has been involved in finding some of the solution to this solid wastes problems. 

Indeed, the poor disposal of wastes has got a lot of negative effects to the environment, even the one mentioned above included, however my country Rwanda has got a waste reducing plan whereby an organisation whose motto is "From wastes to Revenue" has started a recycling process and the country is more engaged in it. This organisation is called Watoto Vision on Africa (WVA) whereby this was started by the local Rwandans and it is working to provide opportunities for sustainable livelihoods to the communities engaged. This organisation helps our country in a way that it runs a project in Rwanda's one dumping site located in Gasabo district.  

WVA runs a project in this landfill of Gasabo district whereby it runs a project that aims at alleviating the problem of solid waste management.

This process is in a way thta talented women especially are the ones empowered also to boost their self confidence, and tese collect usable pieces of trash fom that landfill/tip, then these WVA members clean those pieces, they revamp them and then they repurpose these wastes into products that can be sold. And through this they help to sustain for our environment.

WVA has established a growing circular and recycling model that benefits the community, moreover it is driven by mostly women whereby they produce handicrafts produced solely from the local solid waste instead of being overloaded in the dumping sites and overload.

Rwanda is looking forward to work with and develop such organisations and even be able to contribute more so as to ensure the well being of our environment.  Sustainability wins.
