(Free report) Major causes of water pollution in Rwanda and some of the majors taken towards their eradicatiion.

by Kevin RUSAGARA IRAGUHA | 25-02-2021 00:45

As we all aware that water pollution is the contamination of water especially water bodies usually as a result of human activities such as construction, mining, dumping and many other human activities contribute to water pollution in Rwanda.

Here we will be discussing about some of the major causes of water pollution in Rwanda and if applicable, what major has the government of Rwanda taken towards eradicating such pollution.

First and foremost, the major cause of the contamination of lakes and rivers in Rwanda is dumping wastes into the water. Many landfills get overloaded and the nearby community just find solutions for themselves and in that case they get rid of the overloading of the landfills by dumping some of the wastes into the nearby water sources either the lakes or rivers so as to transport them. And due to their ignorance, they can't just think of what use that water was to them hence just dumping.

Secondly, the other major cause of water pollution is the sewage disposal from the industries whereby these industries do not have proper sewage disposal processes hence they just direct their wastes into the water. Moreover, this sewage from the industries does contain even some hazardous and very harmful chemicals to the environment and even more harm to the aquatic life hence leading to loss of biodiversity and also the water pollution.

Then, the other major cause of this water pollution seems to be that large and general but it kind of contributes a lot to the water pollution. And that other major cause is ignorance of the some of the citizens. Whereby these citizens can organize themselves and go to wash their clothes near the water bodies and the soap-containing water is later on poured in the river or any other nearby water bodies hence causing the pollution. And also you can find some ignorant citizens bathing in the water bodies whereby this can also contaminate the water.

There are indeed many causes of water bodies contamination in Rwanda, but to mention a few. Some are explained above and here are some of the major solutions that the government has taken for such ignorant people and the poor waste disposing industries.

The government has started various campaigns whereby they aim at educating the citizens of Rwanda some of the major uses of the water bodies and what are the major effects that are going to reach out due to the contamination of the water.

The government of Rwanda has also set policies concerning the protection of water bodies whereby they also include some of the punishments or fines that are charged to people found dumping wastes in the water bodies hence this will help to reduce the amount of wastes dumped in the country's water bodies.

The government of Rwanda has also set policies whereby these also include some of the major requirements that industries must indicates so as to continue processing otherwise if it doesn't meet them, the it will not be allowed to function. Every industry in Rwanda is required to prepare a proper wastes disposal process and if it misses one then it will not be allowed to function within the country.

With all these majors, the government of Rwanda has now even made stronger the major so as to inhibit the contamination of water bodies in a way that even now the water pollution has significantly reduced at a large extent. And I think with the same policies, then Rwanda can also lead to an eradication of other environmental degrading problems and pollutions. Since even now the water pollution is nearly eradicated because the government's measures and policies have worked out.

Through the cooperation of the government, youth driven environment activists and the citizens at large, we can eradicate every kind of pollution in our ecosystem!!!

Green Cheers!!!! Let's take our part in sustaining our environment.

Thank you.
