World Wetland day

 Every Year on 2^nd of  Februar, we celebrate  world wetland Day  (WWD) . This day is celebrated to raise the global awareness  about the high importance of wetlands and our planet .   The Theme of world wetland Day 2021 is “  Wetlands and Water “ .

 Nowdays , we are facing a growing a fresh water crises that threatens people and the planet . We are destroying the ecosystem  that water and all life depend on most wetland . Water and wetland are connected in an inseperable co- existence  that is vital to life , our well being  and the health of our planet . There are lots of benefits that we got from the wetlands .some are :

a.      Wetland holds and provide most of our fresh water .

b.      Wetlands helps to filter the water naturally , leaving water which we can safely drink .

c.      Aquaculture and  rice paddies  are the main  fast growing feed source that we got from wetland .

d.       Provides nature a home : About 40% of the world’s species live and breed in the wetland .

e.       Wetlands provides protection from floods and stroms   with each acre of  wetland  absorbing  upto 1.5 million  gallons of water .

 Wetlands are our precious wealth gifted  to us by the nature . So we all must protect wetland around us .
