Environmental Jobs - [Thematic Report]

by Justice Obiri | 30-01-2021 14:07

ENVIRONMENTAL JOBS

I honestly and sincerely think environmental jobs are one of the most difficult career paths to follow. I would start by congratulating each and every environmental worker in the world and narrow it down all of us here serving as ambassadors and mentors. I do not think it is an easy job at all. Most of these environmental jobs pay less in Africa and hence usually one has volunteer to do this jobs to save mother earth. This term has been very challenging, I¡¯ve realized most of the ambassadors do not submit their reports on time and this only signifies that we are indeed going through a very difficult time. I am personally very busy with studies, work, family problems and other things that are really retarding my progress here.

That notwithstanding, all the pain and toils we go through in our quest to make the world a better place for us all is very worth it. Generations would come to benefit from what we are striving for now. I have seen a situation where a forest ranger was killed on duty for trying stop some illegal loggers of wood from cutting down trees in one of the forest reserves in Ghana. Environmental workers are faced with death each and every time.  I once had to desilt a filthy gutter and trust me, it was very difficult. This was because nobody was willing to enter the gutter and desilt. After desilting a very dirty gutter, if a proper wash down is not performed with disinfection it could also lead infection from germs and other microbes.

Referencing to www.cnbc.com some of the popular environmental jobs include;

1.     Environmental engineers

2.     Environmental scientist

3.     Geoscientist

4.     Atmospheric scientist

5.     Biochemist

6.     Conservation scientist

7.     Hydrologist

8.     Urban and rural planners

All of these jobs are very good and it requires passion for nature for one to be successful with such a career.

Green Cheers!
