[October Thematic Report] Eco-Friendly Products Shaping Our Future Lives

by Baekjin Kim | 26-10-2023 06:43

In the 21st century, numerous eco-friendly products are being invented and produced. Although they can be sometimes inconvenient or not familiar with using them, they still protect, and preserve our environment and will sustain our nature for a longer period of time. Nowadays, many materials such as straws, cups, and our daily-life materials are changing. They are all disposable or reusable. Some of the great examples are eco-bags, paper straws, and cups.

First, one of the most popular products is an eco-bag. It is frequently used nowadays with most of the people around the world. It is highly sustainable, and can easily carry a large amount of materials. Moreover, a variety of decorations can be added to the design of the bag, as there are multiple ways to decorate it. Essentially, the bags not only recycle the material that is going to be wasted, but they also eliminate the need for plastic bags (used frequently in markets) that have proven to harm the environment. Ultimately, they can last long, as they are reusable for infinite times.

Another product that is useful is paper straws and cups. Nowadays, most coffee shops such as Starbucks, or even other smaller coffee shop businesses utilize paper straws and cups for a better sustainable environment. Even though it is sometimes unpleasant to use them (due to their durability), they can still protect the environment by not disposing of any plastic-related materials in the ecosystem. Moreover, often times these straws are only used once and are disposed of. Hence, it would be more efficient to use a paper straw to at least prevent that inconvenience and protect the world. Furthermore, most of the cafes do not allow indoor plastic cup usage, as that can lead to an insufficient way of wasting a plastic cup.

For some of the products, they cannot be erased in the world. However, people still have to advocate to reduce the usage of them. Just like the developments of the new products mentioned above, any new sustainable items can be a part of conserving the world and the precious ecosystems.
