Thematic Report: The United States of Emirates environment regulations

by Asmita Gaire | 19-12-2020 10:38

It has been a long time I have been in Tunza. I have gone through lots of reports written by Ambassadors and Eco members. I was always facinated by their reports. I am lucky enough to know about different countries from different members. Taking this monthly thematic report as an opportunity, I want to express my gratitude towards the UAE for it's environmental regulation and infrastructure. I have gone through several reports from ambassador of the UAE like Mr. Sainath and Miss Aniskha. From then, I was very much influenced from the UAE for it's environmental efforts. I then started going through several videos and news from the UAE. Though, I don't know much about UAE, the extent to which I am known about it is very impressing for me.

The UAE is characterized by an arid desert climate. It has low rainfall and high temperatures during the dry and hot summer months. Most of the Nepalese people visit UAE for the work or study purpose. I have also heard these facts from them. However, it has been taking efforts to make the country an Eco friendly one.

The UAE has regulated various laws. The primary legislation for Environmental protection in the UAE is Federal Law No. 24 of 1999 for the protection and development of the environment. It is an environmental law. The Federal Law No. 11 of 2002 regulating and controlling the international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora. The UAE has also set a legislation body for the sustainable policies to ensure sustainable development for life. In 2010, the UAE government launched the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world by the time of its Golden Jubilee. Rooftop solar panels, nature-inspired architecture, plenty of green spaces, car-free zones and energy-efficient appliances in residential and commercial units are a few examples of how this SDG in the UAE is making the city more environmentally-friendly.

If we talk about COVID19 situation, many countries are struggling in this severe situation; however, Dubai has set an example by making a proper regulations and opening of the tourism also. It's quite risky in this pandemic situation, however we never know when it will end to zero or we never know when next pandemic will hit us. The best thing is we have to be ready for everything, and carry out our activities with very precautionary and safety measures which the UAE is doing. Similarly, many Nepalese visit the UAE every year for it's Eco friendly environment, I have heard alot about it's Eco friendly activities and Environment.

In my lifetime, if I ever get opportunity, I am intending visiting the United States of Emirates.
