Korean Government Scholarship KGSP/GKS

The Korean Government Scholarship Program, or KGSP, is an academic scholarship funded and managed by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), a branch of the Ministry of Education in South Korea. This scholarship provides non-Korean scholars (or overseas Koreans who fulfil certain criteria) with the funding and opportunity to conduct undergraduate or postgraduate level studies in any field you can think of except MBBS in South Korea after completing one year of intensive Korean language studies.There are two paths to apply to this scholarship .You may apply via embassy or respective korean university.

I. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
¡Û Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea for graduate-level degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
¡Ø As Korean Government Scholarship Programs have been integrated and branded as Global Korea Scholarship in 2010, the name is changed to GKS (Global Korea Scholarship).
II. TOTAL NUMBER OF EXPECTED GRANTEES : 1276 Candidates
1. Graduate Degrees (Master¡¯s and Doctoral program): 1266 Candidates
¡Û GKS Quota reserved for the Embassy Track: 650 Candidates (606 General + 20 Overseas Koreans + 30 Korean Language Teaching Professionals)
– Embassy Track Quota for General Applicants: 606 Candidates from 145 Countries
