In Mexico, due to the increase in gasoline and diesel prices, and the excessive number of cars in circulation, they have gradually opted for sustainable and efficient means of transport in the face of an environmental crisis, where automobiles are one of the main providers of gas emissions to use for climate change.

Currently in the country there are 55.5 million registered vehicles in circulation, of which only 1.08% are ecological, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) between 2016 and 2020 there were 47,705 hybrid vehicles in the automotive market and electric, of which Toyota Prius is preferred by buyers. Likewise, the Mexican Association of Natural Gas Vehicles (AMGNV) says that there are more than 15,000 motor vehicles converted to gas combustion, this means that 1 out of every 70 vehicles works with NGV. In Puerto Vallarta, the coastal city where I live, public transport is friendly to the environment, 244 trucks use Natural Gas, this alternative has a direct impact on the economy, as it reduces expenses to 50% of what it would cost to use fossil fuels . The implementation of new transportation alternatives that use NGV will guarantee 90% emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) and 30% of carbon dioxide (CO2). Car sharing through different applications is one of many green alternatives when talking about transportation, and it is something that has been on the rise in recent years. This is quite good for the planet, even though Mexico is still far from catching up with other countries that have a greater number of ecological vehicles, but it is estimated that in the coming years the numbers will multiply and people will be able to acquire a car more easily. environmentally friendly car. Around 14,000 Mexicans die from conditions directly related to environmental pollution annually, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Imagine if more people changed their vehicles for others that cause less pollution, we would greatly reduce the emissions caused by fossil fuels and we would contribute positively to curbing climate change worldwide.

Just as there are green automotive vehicles as a means of transportation in Mexico, there are also other non-motorized alternatives that are quite efficient for shorter journeys, better known as door-to-door trips, which are being used more and more by people aware of the damage to the environment caused by other transports. The use of bicycles and the construction of bicycle lanes throughout the country is a fact that is gradually increasing, because in order to increase the use of this means by more people, the correct infrastructure is needed to circulate safely through the streets. cyclists, as well as other means of transport are beginning to gain popularity to travel not so long distances from one point to another in the city, the government has launched campaigns in different cities that promote the use of alternative transport such as bicycles which are in different streets and through an app you can rent them to go to your destination. Other alternatives are e-scooters and electric motorcycles, which you can also rent through an application. The bicycle taxis in Mexico City is a new way of transporting oneself through electric power through a hybrid system.

With new technologies it is possible to reach an efficient and friendly microviality with the planet and without people having their own vehicle. All these new ecological means of transport in addition to reducing environmental pollution also mitigate visual pollution.
