Thematic Report: Eco friendly mobility

We generally travel from one place to another for some purpose. If it's not about lockdown and pandemic, traveling was very frequent phenomena for me. I had to travel my university and sometimes from university to back home. In the vacation, traveling to tourism area was almost like mandatory for me. Mostly, I used to use public transportation for all these long distance travel purposes. For short distance mobility, I have habit of using electronic vehicle that is called as tuktukey or daphnye in Nepali. I use these short distance vehicles mostly if I have got much load or heavy bags to carry on my hands. Otherwise, for short distance I walk by foot. When I am in home, I use scotter if I have to travel somewhere, it is not because I ignore Public transportation. It's because my home is in countryside, and the access of public transportation is very rare in our area road. We have to travel walk 10-15 minutes to reach bus station, and have no idea how much we have to wait for bus to come. Nevertheless, if it's not about important businesses, and if it's just about visiting places for fun, I use public transportation even if I am in home. But if I have got to reach somewhere in time, then I use my private vehicle scooter since I can't take risk of untimely visiting bus, and bus station is also quite far away from where I live.

When I use scooter, mostly I travel with someone or I provide service if someone is also visiting at the same time to some places on my route. So that, the fuel work for both, and the fuel is not unnecessarily used.

But with pandemic, mobility has strictly been restricted. The ratio of visiting palces has certainly been reduced to greater extent. Use of public transportation has come to halt. I use my private vehicle if I have to travel long distance, but I rarely do travel. I just travel for essential services. I walk on foot ornby bicycle for short distance. I remember my high school days where I used to ride on bicycle for 45 minutes. After I have visited my university which is at 4 hours distance from my home. The use of bicycle was almost into full stop. But now, I have started using it for mobility. It not only helps in maintaining healthy life but also helps in maintaining healthy environment.

Observing birds flying from balcony, it makes me feel that they have very genuinely utilized their body system for mobility and have maintain their physiology. It's really worth experiencing to visualize all their activities. It give me calm effect. So, I also make a walk everyday in my field around my home and around open ground all alone. It makes me refreshing with soothing effect. So far, by now I have following entirely Eco friendly mobility.
