[Eco-Friendly Mobillity] Monthly topic

Hey! Today I'm gonna talk about Eco-Friendly Mobillity in Kazakhstan. Our country is not so productive in such development, but we are on the way to be "Green" country.
In Kazakhstan, the environmental problem is most acute for residents of megacities: the air is polluted by industrial emissions and smog. Cities are covered in a gray haze, and even green spaces can't cope with the increasing amount of harmful substances and carbon dioxide. To improve the environmental situation, high-tech developments are considered and applied: the use of renewable and safe energy sources, the introduction of environmentally friendly innovations.

One of the main directions is the development and promotion of the use of ecological modes of transport. In several major cities of Kazakhstan (Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Aktobe, Aktau, Atyrau, Shymkent), public transport routes are served by fast, eco-friendly and convenient modern buses with hybrid, diesel or gas engines, there are routes with buses that are fully powered by electricity.

A dedicated lane for buses and trolleybuses is successfully functioning on the streets of Almaty, which allows transporting more people, new metro stations are being built in addition to the existing ones, and the trolleybus fleet is being updated. A promising idea is the return of the tram to Almaty: it is expected that the new cars will be faster, more comfortable and more spacious. The comfort and safety of passengers during the trip will increase. Another bright initiative is the construction of bike paths and hourly city bike rental stations.

Some residents are seriously thinking about abandoning cars with an internal combustion engine and switching to electric transport. What are the advantages? Electricity is much cheaper than gasoline, there are no parts in the design that require frequent maintenance and notes-the engine, which requires oil, engine, gearbox, candles, and much more. In many developed countries, the government encourages owners of electric vehicles: they enjoy privileges, such as the absence of certain taxes and Parking fees, and free charging stations are installed and actively used in cities. In Kazakhstan, special charging stations can only be found in the cities of Almaty, Nur-Sultan and on the Nur-Sultan-Borovoe highway. Some major shopping centers provide special Parking spaces with charging for electric vehicles. Such devices can charge the battery in a few hours, and a small charge will take half an hour. Charging from a regular outlet will take longer – from 8 hours for small models to a day, if we talk about Tesla or BMW cars.

In the future, the situation may change for the better. But what to do if you want to save on fuel and take care of the environment right now? You can use public transport, buy a bike, walk more often, or you can buy one of the light, small and eco-friendly options for individual electric transport. Which one depends on your needs and personal preferences. All of them are small in size, easy to maintain, do not require frequent repairs and replacement of spare parts, and charging is carried out from a regular household outlet. On a single charge, such an "iron horse" can run up to several tens of kilometers – it's easy enough to get to your place of work or study and even back. No traffic jams, inconveniences in crowded public transport, no search for Parking and storage, and solid savings at the gas station.

One of the great options is a two-wheeled small vehicle with a foot pad that supports balance using gyroscopes and sensors. Control is carried out by a slight tilt of the body and is mastered intuitively, but some models are equipped with the usual steering wheel. The boom in gyroscopes has already subsided a little, but along with monocycles, they are still convenient, inexpensive and popular means of transportation in the urban jungle, and are especially popular among students, schoolchildren and even pre-school children. You can fully charge the battery of the gyro scooter in 1.5-3 hours and safely reach your destination – the mileage can reach up to 25 km. There are also more exotic options-roller skates and skates with an electric motor-small convenient models designed more for entertainment and training balancing skills.

Electric scooters are the undisputed leaders among modern eco – transport. They are similar to the usual models, only the design provides a powerful battery that feeds a small electric motor-most often it is built into the steering wheel or under the carrier deck. Simpler electric scooters can "run" 10-30 km on a single charge, and serious models are capable of traveling 150 km. The charging time depends on the power and capacity of the battery and varies from an hour to half a day. Electric scooters are respected among young people, office workers and students, but more and more often you can meet middle-aged people who confidently conquer the roads. Parents take their children to school and kindergarten on the way to work, and the folding design will allow you to leave the scooter right under the office table for charging-it will not interfere with anyone. Some models have a removable additional battery – such a "skate" on the shoulder and a country trip or a trip to another city.

The most comfortable option for individual electric transport is electric scooters and electric bicycles. Reliable design, comfortable seat and powerful battery provide comfort during the trip. No need to pedal while trying to overcome the climb: all you need to do is watch the road and enjoy the light breeze. Some models are even equipped with a basket for transporting small loads, so they can become a complete replacement for a moped or scooter on gasoline. Most models do not require registration, and when driving down a mountain or pedaling, you can turn on the battery charging mode without waiting for the opportunity to connect it to the power supply. Normal charging takes from an hour to 8-12 hours, depending on the battery capacity and power of the electric motor, and the length of the trip without recharging can be 45-80 km.

Eco-friendly transport – taking care of the environment and your health, saving money and a great way to spend time usefully, forgetting about traffic jams.
