by Bal krishna Pandey | 30-10-2020 18:31

Sustainable development is the development of the present generation by using the natural resources and means that the future generations will also be able to use. The most refined concept of sustainable development is found in the definition given by the United Nations Commission on Environment and Development. It is said - Sustainable development means meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the needs of the future generation. Human should not endanger himself, other living beings and future generations by wasting natural resources now. We should take only as much as you need from natural treasures and make maximum use of it. If we maintain the balance of the environment by conserving nature, it would be better to develop all-round human beings by maintaining the balance of the entire planet.

The main objectives of sustainable development are Human development and progress, Rational use of natural resources, Natural conservation and, High, stable and sustainable economic growth.

Of course, the concept of sustainable development has also been criticized. They say powerful nations are exploiting smaller nations and Sustainable development is an obstacle to the development of weak countries. Weak nations have to bear the negative effects of pollution produced by industrialized countries. Sustainable development has been limited to slogans only.
